Character Design
Welcome to my character design portfolio. Some characters have larger breakdowns available, including animation examples, rigging breakdowns or concept art. Softwares used to create these characters include Photoshop, Illustrator, ZBrush and Cinema 4D.
2D Character Designs
The Mercenary - This is the main character of a video game project my brother has been developing as he pursues his bachelors degree in Game Design. This mysterious character finds a mystical sword that mimics abilities from the other races of characters he encounters on his journey. As he draws his sword, a spiritual arm manifests to take the spot of his missing left arm.
Head Variant Concept Art - We quickly knew we wanted the character's face to be hidden in shadow, but once we landed on the hood design, I experimented with alternate skins for what the character could look like beneath the hood.

Anwar Turnaround
Anwar - A character I created in high school, that I've just kept developing over time. He's the definition of dopey. A dumber fictional character has never been conceived by mankind. But yet, he can somehow manage to get by in any situation, normally by ruining things along the way.

Augustus - A sleazy, no good dirtball of a rat that I created a few years ago. He's the type of character that is always lurking, making the protagonist's life miserable simply with his presence alone, like Newman from Seinfeld.

Rupert - A prim, proper British rat. A lover of fine arts, Rupert is an extremely talented violinist, dancer and painter. He can excel at anything he puts his mind to, but his insecurities hold him back, and he's terrified of criticism. Just when things are looking up for Rupert, an external force always finds a way to screw everything up for him.

Character puppets I created for an upcoming short educational film, “Unicorns: Break the Cage,” which is currently in production. The characters were designed in Photoshop, and are being animated in Adobe Character Animator. All poses here were made in Character Animator as well. Sonora - An outspoken and courageous animal lover, she's wise beyond her years. She doesn't take no from anyone, so it's best to not get in her way.

Thelonious Jones - Character created for Ramapo Animation Club's "Chip's Tips." The smoothest, jazziest saxophone around, Thelonious Jones is a completely autonomous musical instrument, and performs anywhere he can.

Chip the Cat - Character created for Ramapo Animation Club's "Chip's Tips." Chip has a bit of an attitude, as most cats do. An independent character, he tends to wander off a lot, leaving a lot of mystery to his cute exterior.

Ramahog - Character created for Ramapo Animation Club's "Ramapo News. He's a pretty average news reporter, designed to give inexperienced animation students, or even students involved in the club with no animation background a chance to pick up the file and create something good.

As the news anchor of the show, the Ramahog was only designed to be seen face-on, behind a desk.

Characters from my work on The #1 Bus Chronicles by Joel Katz. I designed and animated these characters for a 90 second scene in the film.
These characters were created for the credits of my student film, Captain Golden Years, and were designed to look like they were drawn by the main character of the film’s daughter when she was a little girl. The characters were created in Photoshop and animated in After Effects using the Duik Bassel plug-in.
